Real Weddings – Sandra and Shawn

I love hearing proposal stories.  To me, the more tears the better, and the story of Sandra and Shawn’s proposal literally had me reaching for tissues (yes, I’m a sap).

There’s always so much pressure on a guy to create the perfect proposal.  Whether it’s low key or over the top, I think the best thing a guy can do is take the time to make the proposal truly about them.  And that’s what Shawn did when he proposed to Sandra.  While making Valentine’s Day dinner, Shawn asked Sandra to come into the kitchen to look at the chocolate covered strawberries he arranged because they “didn’t look right”.  When Sandra came in, she saw dipped white strawberries with the letters “W-I-L-L  Y-O-U” written on them.  Sandra figured out the rest instantly, and turned to see Shawn on one knee with the ring.  (Ok, how many of you just said. “aww!”)  I love it because it’s sweet and genuine and, as Sandra said, “it was so us”.

When it came time for their wedding planning, Sandra incorporated several traditional elements but kept things modern at the same time.  Check out some of their gorgeous wedding photos and wedding details below.
