Each year, I give my husband a “wish list” of things I’d like for Christmas.  Sure, it takes the surprise out of gift-giving, but in the end, he feels great that he got me something I love, and I feel great because, well, I got it! (That doesn’t sound too bad of me, does it?)  I guess the reason why I do it is because I am so picky.  I can’t just say that “I’d like a new handbag” – I have to specify brand, pattern, size, etc.   (And yes, if you are wondering if I did it for Chritmas this year, the answer is yes.  Trust me, he appreciates that I just send him the link to exactly what I want).  Same thing with jewelry.  I want to love it and I want to love wearing it, so it has to be just perfect for me.  I can visualize earrings I would love to have – but if it’s impossble to find them online anywhere, I’m pretty much out of luck.

Enter Gemvara – specifically, the Naked Gem line of Gemvara (don’t you just love the name?)  If you haven’t heard of Gemvara yet, that’s ok – I’m here to give you the scoop.  Gorgeous jewelry – earrings, necklaces, rings – you name it – all custom made to your liking.  How many times have you seen a piece of jewelry and thought “if only it had” (fill in the blank here) or “I wish it didn’t have” (you name it).  With Gemvara, you pick the design, choose the metal, and of course, the gem.

Now, there’s the Naked Gem line. I love it because it’s contemporary.  If you are shopping for your bridal jewelry or any jewelry you want to wear during any of your wedding events (engagement party, bridal shower or rehearsal dinner) the Naked Gem line offers rings, earrings, and necklaces with pendants that you can customize with your choice of 5 metals and 19 (yes, you read that right, 19!) gemstones to choose from.

The metals you can choose from include white gold, yellow gold, platinum, sterling silver or rose gold.  The gemstones include quartz, blue topaz, amethyst, citrine, black onyx, lemon quartz, sapphire, green amethyst, garnet, tourmeline, diamond, ruby, emerald, aquamarine, peridot, black diamond, tanzanite, and iolite.  The pieces are all made by hand and ship within 2-3 weeks.  So, if last minute you realize you forget all about getting your rehearsal dinner accessories or you just want to look fabulous with custom wedding day jewelry, you have to check out Gemvara.

And if you aren’t enagaged yet and you are trying to drop some hints to your significant other with the type of ring you would like, Gemvara does engagement rings too!

Check out some of the pieces above – these are some of my favorites.  I wanted to share “blue” pieces because I think they would be absolutely gorgeous as a “something blue” but the possibilities are endless.
