Wedding Gown Wednesday!

If you are looking for a a classic gown that will elongate your figure, you have to check out Jenny Yoo’s “Nicolette”.  Part of the Spring 2012 collection, this gown has subtle, yet gorgeous details – yet, when they are pulled together, they speak volumes.

The Nicolette has a strapless neckline which softly dips at the center – a look loved by brides because it isn’t quite a true sweetheart neck, but still gives its illusion and provide just enough shape.  The wide empire waist band ties into a long exaggerated bow in back (and yes, a wider band provides a slimming effect, what bride wouldn’t want that?)  It has a trumpet silhouette and a short sweep train, making this gown appropriate and perfect for any wedding setting.

My favorite details of the gown, however, are the lace fabric overlays and lace scallop detail at the hem of the skirt.  To be perfectly honest, lace gowns aren’t usually my thing.  But the Nicolette is modern and the lace is so beautifully done that it really does provide just the right balance of the old with the new.
